Our Senior Leadership
Richard Parker, Principal
Richard Parker joined ISL Surrey in 2015 as Principal. Prior to his appointment, he was Secondary School Principal at Victoria Shanghai Academy in Hong Kong and has previously held various leadership roles in Portugal, Brunei and Spain. He is an IB Workshop Leader for administrators new to the Middle Years Programme and MYP Humanities, and is active in the Alliance of International Education. He holds an MA and BA in history from Cambridge University.
Sarah Partridge, School Leader
Sarah Partridge started her career in a London primary school over 20 years ago, moving on to teach across the early years and primary age phases in international schools in Lesotho, Peru, Argentina, Italy and since 2011 at ISL Surrey. Sarah has held a range of leadership posts over the years, the most recent being Early Years Leader and Head of Marketing at ISL Surrey. Sarah is passionate about education and creating the right school environment for every individual to find their voice and fulfil their potential.
Clare Bodfish, Curriculum Leader
Clare Bodfish joined ISL Surrey Primary School in 2016 as Year 6 teacher and is now Curriculum Leader. During her 20 years teaching career, she has worked in both independent, state and IB World schools in the UK, Portugal, Togo and Brunei. Clare has worked with a range of curriculum, including the IB Primary Years Program, the IPC and the English national curriculum and worked as a phonics consultant within East Sussex.
Rachel Stokes, Well-being Leader & SENCO
Rachel Stokes joined ISL Surrey in November 2018. Over the course of her twenty year teaching career she has worked in schools in Manchester and London and in an International School in Italy. She has been working in the area of Inclusion for the last eight years of her career as a SENCo and Deputy Head teacher in Inner City London schools. She has a Masters in Education and the National Award in Special Educational Needs Qualification. She is excited to have the opportunity to work with ISL Surrey while Ms Holly Pellatt is on maternity leave.
Susan Stewart, Head of Multilingualism
Susan Stewart joined ISL Surrey in 2011, after having lived and worked in Thailand, the UAE, South Africa, Belgium, Oman and Sweden. Susan has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics and French and is currently completing an MA Linguistics at SOAS UCL. She speaks English, French, German, Afrikaans, Swedish and Arabic and is a lifelong learner of languages. Susan is active in the local community in promoting the use of home languages, delivering regular parent workshops around issues of family language policy. Susan is the Chair of the ECIS 'Multilingual Learning in International Education' committee.
Gosia Cuddy, Multilingualism Leader
Gosia joined ISL Surrey in 2015, having previously worked for Surrey County Council and mainstream primary schools in supporting students new to English. Gosia has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Teaching English as an Additional Language and a Postgraduate Diploma in Bilingual Translation between English and Polish. Gosia is raising two bilingual children with her British husband. Gosia enjoys working in an international environment and discovering how multilingualism can enhance learning.
Claudine Hakim, Head of Admissions
Claudine Hakim is Head of Admissions, Transitions and External Relations at the International School of London (ISL) UK schools. She joined ISL Surrey in 2009 as one of the founding Heads and is the leader of the award winning Crossroads Transitions programme. Claudine is passionate about fostering well-balanced and inclusive communities and also Heads the ISL Schools Student Support Services. Claudine holds a Masters degree from the University College of London, Institute of Education in Educational Leadership and Management and an BA in Psychology and Counselling from Richmond International University.
