We believe every child should have the chance to benefit from an exciting, broad, and balanced Physical Education curriculum, taught by specialist teachers, that encourages a love for physical education and sport, and prepares them for lifelong engagement.

Physical education and sport play an important role in life at ISL Surrey and link closely to our ethos of outdoor learning. Reception to Year 2 enjoy two forty five minute lessons weekly, in addition to swimming. From Year 3, an additional forty five minute weekly lesson is added plus a Games Afternoon. All children also enjoy an additional weekly timetabled Forest School session with our qualified teachers.

At ISL Surrey, we are fortunate to benefit from extensive outdoor spaces. Sport taught ranges from netball, football, basketball, athletics and dance, while a partnership with a popular local acrobatics club - Prime Acrobatics - means students are also offered lessons in gymnastics and circus skills in our on-site, bright and airy gymnasium. There are also opportunities to participate in additional sports such as Judo and ballet, through our extensive extra curricular programme.

This is an inclusive school, where the attitude is to 'have a go.' Our teams are mixed gender and all children have the opportunity to represent their school, regardless of ability, giving them a sense of pride and belonging, while providing a competitive environment in which to demonstrate their talent. Matches and tournaments are played with local schools, in both the main sports we teach, alongside others such as fencing and archery, TAG rugby, tennis and cricket, to more alternative sports such as Tri Golf Tournament and Frizbee Festival.

Our sports year culminates in our annual Sports Day, where children compete in traditional sports day activities alongside a Tough Mudder-style obstacle course.
